Garden Wars

The devasation started over the winter.

The usual suspects left lots of evidence.

In the spring I built cages for the shrubs and gardens .
I started seedlings indoors in April.

On a nice spring day I put them outdoors to "harden".
But they were not strong enough to withstand the animals.

Even a full grown Dalhia was not tough enough.....

Now I have double fencing and bird netting over the gardens.
I am losing many battles a day.
I am getting a headache.
And so are the animals...

And the rabbits and squirrels didn't even wear ski masks!

Squirrels buried nuts in my outdoor pots which I shoved under the bedroom window for the winter - tres lazy.

Now that they are planted, the squirrels have come for the food and had no problem upending geraniums, zinnias and snapdragons scattering dirt all over the deck.

Yes, the squirrels are evil. I did a Google search for the Buddhist approach to garden pests.
Got "No results".
Guess I should Breathe In and Breathe Out.

Whatever the approach, I am certain squirrels are not Buddhists and they will use the time you are breathing to destroy more of your plants.
