Practicing....

It tooks years to do so
but I finally got a DSLR.
A gift from Bill.
The weather was not good for
nature photography this week
so I spent time learning to use my new macro lens.
Netsukes are good subjects.
Cooperative.
Tireless.
Immobile.
This is the first Netsuke I purchased 25 years ago.
We found it in Hawaii.
I picked this subject because we were awaiting the arrival of our first child.

This is one my mother got as a gift from her sister -in -law.
Such detail.

Not a netsuke.
But serene....

I never had heard of netsuke before I saw your entry. Curious, I googled it and found out all about these unique items on Wikipedia. Thank you for contributing to my goal of learning one new things a day! BTW - the camera is only part of a picture's beauty, you need to have an eye for composition which you obviously have.
